Can I add lime to my lawn now?
I've got a mostly clay soil with a ph of 5.5. The lawn is beautiful with fescue grass. I'd like to add lime for continued and long last health for the grass (expensive sod a little over 1 year old). I've read to do this in the spring and fall. What's wrong with doing it today (in July)?

- Right now, the only thing you'd be helping with the lime fertilizer is weed. Wait until fall. You don't want to encourage growth during the summer months, when heat, drought, and over exposure to the sun is already stressing the health of the grass.
- I'm not sure where you live, and that might affect your timing. Here where I live, we have cold winters and that's the best time to put additives on the lawn. The grass will come up in the spring with no help, and additives at that time will only stress it. Ditto July, which is stress enough for grass.
