what is the difference between couch and buffalo lawns?

i have osmocote lawnbuilder to apply to my lawn ..it has a built in weed killer....and it says not to apply to buffalo grass...meaning it will kill it...i am not sure if my lawn is buffalo or couch...thanks!

1. They are very different grasses. Buffalo has broad, short leaf blades and Couch (=Bermuda grass) has small, narrow leaves and narrow, wiry stems that spread easily and can invade garden beds. See pics
2. pretty sure buffalo will look like it has died of a tad over winter kinda has a slight purple to it and the greens up in spring, couch stayes green all year nt sure with out seeing it take bit to nursery
