I live in a sub-division with huge sprawling lawns. I have to treat my lawn so often for killing weeds as ....
....the owner living behind us has lots of them. Not only my lawn, but a couple more around are pretty much affected. I dont think he does anything to get rid of his problem. What is the solution to this? Acctually I want to know what can be done about the guys lawn living behind us.

- Use Scott's weed and turf. That helps my yard. It is real good.
- Go to a farm supply and get a gallon of broadleaf herbicide. and spray your lawn and as much of the neighbors as you can. Let your lawn grow tall as high as the tallest setting of your mower. This will help choke out weeds, or plant zoyzia grass it will choke out everything. I have a great lawn despite the neighbors.
- Get some Roundup weed/grass killer. Mix according to directions in a small hand pump spray bottle. Late one night go out and spot spray the neighbors weeds near you property. When big brown spots show up, just tell the neighbor that he/she needs to fertilize and apply weed control to fix his problem. OBTW, don't teel the neighbor what you did!
- One of the best things to do would be to adjust your lawn mower believe it or not. You should set the mower so it lets the grass grow longer. Longer grass will block out the light that weed seedlings need to grow and will give you a healthier looking lawn. Propoer water techniques are key as well. Water deeply (at least 1 inch of water per watering) and less often as grass roots are deeper than many weed roots. If you water too briefly, you are watering the weeds and not the grass. Use chemicals as a last resort.
- Kill your weeds with fire. That is what i do. The fire dept. gets mad and people then want to lit you on fire. But at least your weeds are gone.
