What is the fastest way to a green lawn?

What is the fastest way to a lush green lawn. I have brown spots dandelions weeds you name it growing in my front yard. We just bought a home and will start landscaping the front to save some money on costs for " to-do projects". I was wondering if anyone has ever spread grass seed or if anyone has every used an accelerator type seed like QUICK LAWN or any of those " as seen on TV" products. I need desperate help on how to start this project. Hopefully I get some good answers.

1. There's a product that will kill weeds and make the grass greener with various nutrients. It's called Round Up, because it kills weeds. Buy a large container of it and use a hose to spray your entire lawn with it. Expect a lush green lawn in a day or so.
2. uh, yeah, roundup will kill the weeds, along with everything else it touches!!
