The Grass Doctor

Approximately how many times do people get their lawns mowed?

I am starting a lawn care business and want to project profitability. I want to know how many times an average lawn get mowed every month. Twice? Once? Every week? I would just like a straight forward, estimated answer.

  1. I do 56 lawns weekly and 5 every two weeks, some dont grow as fast
  2. Generally in spring and summer once a week. In August, when it's hot and dry you can usually do it once every two weeks.
  3. It depends on how the lawn is taken care of, how warm the temps. are, fertilizer, water etc. Why are you sitting here at the computer and not out setting up customers for the up coming season?
  4. It all depends on where you live. I had a lawn care business in florida and although you only mowed once a month in winter, you mowed once a week in summer when the normal afternoon rain came every day. In summer, the grass grows super fast after a daily rain, but people don,t want to spend that kind of money to mow it every other day. Although there is a lot of comprtition, lawn care can be profitable as long as you get paid when its due. A lot of people let it go for a few weeks without paying and then they split out on you. Try to get paid every time you do it so you don,t get burned for a months work.
  5. On average, I mow my lawn weekly. The Muse
  6. Our's is mowed every Monday. Set your mower at 1-1/2 to 3 inches high. If you mow too close to the soil, the grass will not be able to grow well. Always do your best to mow on the same day of each week.
  7. You set your contract up for cutting every week, trimming every week and edge every other week.If you get a hot summer you can still cut it every week and get paid for it.Try to cut at the end of the week so it always looks good for the weekend.
