- go to www.kijiji.ca and type in lawn mowing some people might put ads in the paper aswell. or just ask around your neighbourhood.
- How about small engine repair? Learn it as you go. Make some flyer's post them and wait for your first job. i hope this helps you
- It is a dangerous society we live in today, especially for a young person like you. Talk to your family and relatives and people your family know. At 13 you have allot of time to improve your school skills and enjoy organized sports. Please do not do jobs for people you and your family do not know. Good Luck
- WOW! I am impressed already... especially with your motivation to do some physical labor. I was your age when I started doing lawnwork in the neighborhood and for a church that eventually lead to mowing the church cemetry. It was very lucrative for me at that age. If you do a good job and charge less than the commercial lawncare people... you should have no trouble. Word of mouth will build your business. The only problem you might run into is a homeowner being worried if you had an injury on the job... "if that would be a liability for them". I don't know the answer to that. If you approach elderly in your neighbor that seem to have trouble staying ahead of the grass... that is a good start. They usually have other projects if you are hard working and stick to it ...producing good results. Leave a card with how to contact you and that you are willing to assist them in cleaning projects. Sometimes if you think you are being exploited or taken advantage of... just comment... my parent expects me to do a high quality job and wants to oversee what I agree to do. Then the parent can help negociate if the person is low-balling you too much. You will learn how to manage some basic business practices. Good Luck!
- If there are any little lawn businesses in your neighborhood you can try approaching them and ask if they might need some more hired help. Small operations like that usually don't care how old you are as long as you can put in good work. Little locally owned office supply shops or computer repair shops might hire as an extra hand to do all the tedious easy tasks around the shop, and the longer you're there you might learn more and be given better tasks.
- One way to get Your info out there about your new services for free is to post it on a site like www.craigslist.org. Go to the "Resume" section and post your skills that you can do from home. But, as other's have mentioned, there might be some risk with servicing relative strangers. Best to stick to people you know or are introduced to you by trusted people. And, as you might or might not know ... there are many ways to make money via the Internet. If you'd like to check out the opportunities that I have gotten involved in and recommend to others, then go to my blog and find all the entries where I talk about them. One of the businesses is simple to set up and with the permission of your parents, you can sign up as well. There's no upfront cost involved and you just promote the business to others. I have seen many young people that are set up on this site with their own business ... it's quite exciting to see them get excited about earning their own money! http://internet-security-software-review.com/ Hope this helps you and have a great day!
- My 12 y/o son makes $20 per month per house taking garbage cans out to the curb and back in on trash day. If you could get 20 houses in your neighborhood that would be $400/mo.I also think people would pay you to pick up dog poop. Maybe some of your parents friends would need help with their computers, alot of people dont even know how to check their email, let alone surf the web or write a letter in a word processor. Start with people you and your family know, put the word out with your teachers and friends parents, maybe even a little ad in a local paper or on craigslist.com. But be careful! Take an adult with you if you don't know the person you will be working for. Good luck!!!

- I will definitely help you out with this! When I was your age we mowed lawns and that sort of thing, but we also went door to door to selling products through a magazine. Boy did we profit from that! I like the idea above of taking neighbors trash cans to and from the curb. Here are some other ideas that I just thought of: 1) Paint peoples street numbers on their curb or mailbox with stencils for about $5 bucks a pop 2) Rent a pressure washer for a day and clean people's sidewalks...I did this in high school and made over $3,000 dollars one summer. 3) Edge people's curbs and sidewalks...takes a whole lot less time than mowing and people love to keep their lawn looking clean cut 4) Set up a stand in a business parking lot that sells sack lunches and lemonade at lunch time...you could make a ton of money doing this, especially since your young Hope this helps!
