  1. word of mouth, local paper, make our own fliers/posters... good luck
  2. start with your neighbors, family friends, friends of parents, etc. i dont think major advertising is the trick in this industry.
  3. flyers in the nioghborhood and rubber band them to the mail box or door. The postal service can charge you postage if you put stuff inside but keep your first clients close by and do a good job!! GOOD LUCK!!
  4. Create A Flyer - Go Door To Door post them on each door or place them in the mail boxes of your neighborhood. You can call people in your area via the telephone to communicate your services. Visit each home in your area and spread the word. Ask for REFERRALS! Create a Business Card and hand them out at every opportunity. Place an AD in the Newspaper or on the Internet? Get Referrals from current satisfied customers. Ask for the Business! Other jobs for youth at 14: - Wash Cars - Wash Windows - Deliver and PickUp Groceries - Newspaper Delivery - Walk The Pet Service - Errand Services - Sell Lemonade - Sell Ice Cream buy it wholesale - Sell Flowers - Deliver Mail (Pick up from homes and deliver to the post office for people) Post Flyers and Hand out business cards. "Treat CUSTOMERS like PROSPECTS, Treat PROSPECTS like CUSTOMERS!" You are an "Entreprenuer" and that's AWESOME you will go far in life young man. GOOD LUCK! 5. Flyers in your neighborhood should be a good start. Then find an exculsive neighborhood near your home and put flyers into their mailboxes too.
  6. Put signs up on telephone poles, in super markets, knock on doors or leave a notice in mail boxes. If you see someones lawn looking shabby, go to their door!
  7. You could make signs (on photo paper because it looks really good) and then pass it out in your neighborhood. You could ask local offices (your Dr. or Orthodontist for example) if they could hang one of your signs up. If you go to church you could ask permission to hang one on the church bulletin board. Ask your parents if you could put a little ad in the paper and tell them you can pay them back when you get some money.
  8. a cheap way to advertise: put your ad on a piece of typing paper and on the bottom put your phone number vertically several times on the bottom where people can tear them off. Also go online to a local televison site. Sometimes they have free want-ads. Good luck but be aware of people who may take advantage.
  9. Type up a flier with your name and phone number, make a hundred copies and distribute them to local homes. Good luck !
  10. Make business cards. Office max has paper that is loadable into your printer and perforated for easy tare apart. Make sure you have software that can do the project type, it's nearly impossible to line up without it. Put your name, phone number and rates per lawn. Most kids around here charge $15 per front yard w/ weedwacking. Back lawns are a vareity of sizes and hills, and are quoted on individual basis. Be careful, and never enter a house or accept drinks. Bring your own! Remain professional. If they offer, reply respectfully but firmly "No thanks, I brought my own." Accept ONLY cash. People are rude, and will write you a bad check. Always do a very good and thorough job, or they may not even pay you.
