Looking for an ornamental grass that will grow to roughly 8 feet quickly?

I live in a urban area, looking for a FAST GROWING ornamental grass or shrub that is farely affordable. Preferably starting with seeds. Cheap method of building a privacy fence. Don't like looking at the neigbors nor like them seeing me.

1. pampas grass grows quickly but takes up a lot of space when mature
2. Ravenna Grass, Erianthus ravennae will get that big. It is hardier than Pampas Grass too. For an evergreen grass you might want to try a bamboo, but it may take over your life! Usually the only way to change your mind and get rid of bamboo is to move (you, not the bamboo.)
