i want to kill seed grass?

I planted some seed grass but now the St. Augustine has come in and I want to kill the seed grass because it is growing faster than the St. Augustine and it does not look good. How can I do this>

1. Go to lowes and ask. I had a similar problem and they helped me fix it.
2. Put a tarp down over the grass and the lack of light will kill it.
