Where to buy wheat grass for my guinea pigs?
I have grass in my front and back yard, but it is fertilized in a yearly basis, so i don't want to give them that. I want to buy wheat grass, or wheat grass seeds, but i don't know where in california you get it. Can you buy wheat grass seeds from whole foods? thanks. Also i wanted to know if cat grass ( the grass you find in petstores) is safe to feed them?

- Yes, "cat grass" is usually wheat grass. When we get it for our cats, our rats & guinea pig get their share too. Our guinea pig *loves* it. Sometimes you can find cat grass in the produce section of grocery stores. It often costs less that what you'd pay @ a pet shop too. Since you're in CA, you may be near an Albertson's, which has organic cat grass for about $2. You can also buy the seeds from a garden center or some pet shops & sprout your own. I'm not sure if Whole Foods has packaged seeds, but you can buy some wheat berries from the bin & they should germinate just fine. As with any fresh veggie, don't give your guinea pig too much @ a time.
