The Grass Doctor

What are the laws for one-man lawn care business in Oregon?

If it is just me working. Mowing lawns, edging lawns, trimming bushes, raking/blowing leaves, spraying fert....basic lawn care. Would I need a license or permit?

  1. No. You are probably supposed to have a tax number so the state can steal some of your earnings. But most people just get their money in cash and don't worry about it. Just watch out for people who pay by check and may have a reason to deduct it on their income tax. That tends to come back around...very unpleasantly. If you need to use certain poisons, you will need a certificate to buy them.
