lawns, what do you use to get a lush green lawn minus moss and weeds?

- remove moss & weeds & reseed or lay new turfs.....................
- 1. Best to get a soil test to see what your yard needs. Since you are seeing moss, you most likely need to first get some lime down to neutralize your soil. 2. Mow your grass high (3" or so, depending on the variety) at least once a week, twice when needed. I tell my customers to mow at the second-highest setting of their mower. The biggest mistake people make is to scalp their grass low once a week. Never take more than 1/3 of the grass height off at a time. That's why they mow golf greens every day. 3. Don't bag your clippings - leave them on the lawn. Best to use a mulching blade/kit. 4. Apply a weed and feed in late spring and late summer. Mother's Day and Labor Day are an easy way to remember. Remember that a tall, thick lawn is the best weed preventer. 5. For a real overhaul, do this in mid-fall. Aerate the yard in multiple passes, spread a seed mix in the the aeration holes, apply a topdressing of compost&topsoil mix.
