Help/tips for lawn rescue?
We are newly married and in our first home and are new to lawn care. Our lawn is in need of rescuing and we have heard that using weed and feed will help. How often do we use it and what else can we do to help make is beautiful?

- Weed-n-feed can help. The instructions are on the bag. Basically, put some on around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. You might do a late fall application, depending on how far that is after Labor Day, but follow the instructions on the bag. And be sure to use a spreader to put it down. Don't try to spread it by hand, or you'll get lousy results!
- Weed and Feed keeps the nations largest lawn care providers in business. This stuff should be avoided at all cost. It is less expensive to hire TruGreen or Scotts than doing it yourself, and they have free service calls. Now go drink a beer and relax.
- Congratulations on your marriage and new house you two must be so proud. First you need to prep the lawn get out there with an Iron rake and rid all the bad grass (dead stuff) and at the same time you are are fluffing up the dirt too. Key here is to airate the lawn by allowing air to get into the soil, loosen it up!!! Then go to a Hardware store and get Scotts Weed and Feed and be sure to by a Lawn seed spreader. Follow the directions on the bag and be sure to wet the lawn afterwards (24hours) Allow 5 weeks to pass then go back in and rake it up really good getting rid of all the dead stuff and once your lawn is free of debris and soil is loose then seed the heck out of it. Not sure your Sun amount on your lawn so get the right seed for the amount of Sun you get. Keep the grass watered in the morning and within a few weeks you should be golden!
- Id say to go into a lawn and garden center by your house so you can tell them what your yard is like..... is it full of them pokies, them weeds that just spread over the ground, or is it the kind of weeds that pop up like grass but its not actuall grass... your reaults may depend on the zone you are in to... but we are in zone 4 and use the brand WOW and i love it! its so awsome, i love rolling in the grass with my dog!!!
