  1. I am not an expert on mowers but I would think a fairway mower would be big enough to mow a golf course fairway. When in doubt ask the seller. If you want a better idea of lawn mower sizes there are several sites under "lawnmowers" that explain a ltttle further the types available,
  2. Unless you have a very large yard of at least an acre or two, a fairway mower would be out of the question here. Fairway mowers are used to mow golf courses and sports fields such as professional ball fields. This is the mower that puts the stripping and designs on the turf. Fairway mowers usually have 3 - 6 mowing decks and are of the "reel" type, meaning they cut vertically and not horizontally like the common walk behind rotary mowers one would use on his own yard. All of the components of the mower are run by hydraulics and require alot of maintenance and care to keep them cutting and running properly. Some of the more well known companies who make these "reel" type mowers are Toro, John Deere, Jacobson and Husqvarna. Maybe you should look into a tractor type riding mower in the 15 - 18 hp range instead. Hope this answers your question. http://www.toro.com/golf/mower/index.html http://www.deere.com/en_US/ProductCatalog/GT/category/GT_FWM.html http://www.deere.com/en_US/golfturf/video/index.html ...Billy Ray
