What are some good tips for growing tomatoes indoors?
Hi Do you have any tips for growing tomatoes in containers indoors? Anything you've learnt through experience? How big should the containers be, whats the best spot to keep them, when to use fertiliser etc. Thanks a lot!

- LOTS of light.
- very much query the growing indoors bit , In a greenhouse or conservatory Ok ,, but they need lots of light . I have grown in greenhouse and outdoors ,, so in containers you need at least 12" pots or growbags ,, I used peat base compost . planted young plants ,, placed stakes . water well and watch them go , Keep them watered , do not feed until first truss has set ,, also depends on the variety you choose whether they are grown as cordons or as bushes . You need to know how to pinch out side shoots , making sure they are not fruit spurs ,, an usually stop the plant by nipping out the growing tip after 5 trusses .have set . The plants need plenty of light and warmth for the fruits to ripen . One other point is pollination of the flowers . In a greenhouse there are natural pollinators but indoors you might need to lightly spray the yellow blossoms with a hand sprayer to ensure pollination,, thereby fruit . Good luck ,
