Do Scotts fertilizer and winterguards have expiration dates?

I purchased fertilizer and winterguard a year and half ago and never got around to using it. Both are in the original packages and have not been opened. I am just wondering if they expire or go bad if not used within the seasons selling period? Sorry, just a novice to lawnland and wanted to know if I need to dispose of them or use them this winter? Thank you for your response.

  1. You certainly can use them. They don't really "expire". I suppose there is some level of chemical breakdown over time; so you may not get the potency you paid for or would expect. Good thing you kept them unopened.
  2. it should not be hurt we just too buy the the stuff several tons at a time store it and use it as we needed it but we had about 150 acres of land we raised hay on to but no it should not be hurt.the link below may help
