- i predict i will report you to the authorities because unlicensed landscaping companies are ILLEGAL. you're a terrible terrible person and should be very ashamed of yourself.
- Otter is an utter and should go have his diaper changed. Depends on what type of neighborhood you live in. If they all have a lot of money then 20 would be ok. If they are reg working folks 15 would prob get more results. even as low as 10 for a small yard that would only take you 30 mins. Then charge xtra for "edging" and other stuff. a lot of people don't need edging every time you mow. It depends on if you have to collect the grass clippings or leave them on the lawn. do you have to supply the plastic trash bags. And you don't need a lic to mow lawns. at least not yet But the liberals would like to make you buy one if they could. Another way to do it is. to just pull the mower behind your bicycle all over the neighborhood on the week end or afternoon after school. And when you see a lawn that needs to be mowed. park your bike and mower where they can see it from their door. then just knock on the door and ask if they would like to have their lawn mowed. That is how i found my customers when i was 15. If your going to print your fliers on your own printer. include a pic of you and your lawn mower on it so they know it is a kid just lookin for some work and not some landscape company. A lot of people wont respond to a flier. But doesn't mean they would not pay you to mow their lawn. but go for it. out of 350 you should get some bites. But your flier needs to sell them. Like i said. HI , My name is " John " I am 15 and I live in the neighborhood. And I mow lawns on weekends and after school to make some money for hobbies and to save some for a car. Just tell me what you want done. Mowing $15 Edging $3 large yards $20 Pulling weeds from the garden or raking up the leaves. just call me and tell me what you would like to have done. Thanks John. And dont forget to take a pic with your mower for the flier.
- Same as for any business of this type. Return people's phone calls as soon as possible, even if it's only to say you're so busy that you can't take on any more work. That leaves them free to try someone else instead of wondering whether you'll call back in the next week or so before the lawn is a foot high. Show up when you said you would and do what you said you would, and if you can't make it because your mower broke down or you broke your leg, call them as soon as possible to let them know you can't make it and suggest an alternate day. Make notes when you talk to people so you don't have to remember whether it was the Joneses or the Smiths that wanted mowing on Tuesday. Don't lose their phone numbers or addresses and I wouldn't count on your cell phone to keep all the info. They can screw up. Write it down on paper, in a notebook with your home phone on it in case you lose it.
- First of all you do not need a license to mow lawns. If you want to make extra money mowing lawns around your neighborhood than go for it. Here is what you should do: 1. Pass out the fliers 2. Make sure you are polite and professional 3. Do great work 4. Ask for referrals. The fliers will get you started but the referrals will keep you going. 5. Add extra services to make more money such as weeding gardens, raking, etc... People love kids that work hard and are polite. Build a good reputation and you will get plenty of work.
