How much do people charge mowing lawns?

I am supposed to get a summer job, but can't because I have to take summer classes at a community college. I am thinking about mowing and trimming lawns in my neighborhood to have some money in my pocket for the summer. Also, how often do people mow their lawns and what is the best way to start this. I have all the equipment needed.
