We currently have two types of grass in our yard. How can we get our lawn to be one grass type only?
The lawn looks great when we mow, but a few days later, the different grass types really show. They grow at different lengths and it looks terrible. Please help!

- I don't know how big your lawn is, but the only way you're going to end up with just one type of grass, is to rototill the entire lawn, then replant your lawn. A land scaping crew, can do this for you. Give someone a call for an estimate. It'd be a lot of work for your husband & you to do, but if you don't want to pay anyone, then you'll have to do it yourself.
- i take it you have both Bermuda and St. Agustine grass? well, the best one to keep is the Bermuda, since it usually uses less water and can thrive in extreme hot summer temperatures while, the St. Agustine is more thicker and will tend to use more water to keep it green. BUT, what you are going have to do is, like mentioned to you in the other answer, is re-root all the grass that you dont want, give yourself an idea of which of the two you want to keep and then re-sod all the yard. its going to be tight on the money, but at the end, you'll have the lawn you wanted. remember, the best time to do this is now, before the winter times are upon you. good luck and take some pics for us will you of your yard. take care.
