Lawn fertilizer or turf builder?

I have an established new lawn( age 6-8 weeks) that I use stater fertilizer when seeded. Now is it safe to use regular fertilizer and which one.Or should I use a turf builder instead I just want to know is it save because I don't want to over fertilize the lawn and cause damage

  1. Scott's is the best you can use. I think you can get it in fertilizer and turf builder together.
  2. If you want to get the most accurate levels of what your lawn needs take soil samples and take them to your extension office. They will send it off and when you get the results back take it to your local co-op for advice. You may need to wait because too much fertilizer can damage your lawn. You may just need lime as well but that's why its best to sample.
  3. A turf builder is faster, more economical and more effective.
