What is the best lawn fertilizer for summer?

I need a well balanced lawn fertilizer for my tall fescue lawn anyone know?

3. Compost is the best fertilizer all around; it adds all the nutrients a lawn or garden would need naturally; it also improves water retention and continues to work as long as it remains on the ground. Nothing else can claim to do all of this.
4. While Scott's Turf-Builder (with/without Summergard) is an excellent all-purpose balanced lawn fertilizer. That said, you may want to hold off fertilizing in the summer, especially when it's very hot, as it is this week. The best action is simply to water when there's no rain, then apply fertilizer when the weather cools down. I, mistakenly, applied Scott's Turf-Builder Plus 2 and it burned the grass (even seasoned gardeners make mistakes). If you feel that a fertilizer is needed for your lawn now, be sure you water well (about 1/2 inch per week) after application.
