what type of grass should i plant for my cat?

i keep a cat and i stay in an apartment. i cannot take him to the garden because he likes to run away. i know cats need to eat grass / leaves for their health. (my mom said cats eat grasses when they feel unhealty, grass is their traditional medicine). this means that i have to plant grass in my apartment. can you suggest what type of grass good for them? dont get me wrong, I feed him cat food and water, take him to veterinar regularly. just that i know cats eat grass sometimes, so i want to provide the best for Golden. thanks for your advise, guys! l'll find catnip and ask more advice from my vet / pet shop.

1. Grass is grass, most people pick grass variety's for their aesthetic value. Also, most animals eat grass to induce vomiting, which would otherwise occur anyways. Grass does not provide any medicine or nutrients for your cat.
2. Cats eat grass when they have a stomach ache, it makes them throw up to get the bad food out. My cat often goes outside to eat grass only to barf it up in the house, ewww.

6. Catnip.....try growing catnip for them. Cats go absolutely berzerk over the stuff. I'm growing some outside in the garden for our cats this year. Fresh catnip has a nice minty smell. Its like marijuana to them!!
7. they make special grass commonly referred to as cat grass. you can get it at the pet store. they have some that is already grown or they have some that you add water to a container and it grows. that's what we give our cats and they love it.
8. I'm just surprised so many people answered this... Don't feed the cat grass, feed the cat spiders. It will grow a few extra sets of legs and become a Spider-Cat.

10. Go to the pet supply store and ask them if they have wheat grass for cats. I've bought it in a little container with the seeds and growing medium. You just water it and put it in the sun, and it will sprout a nice crop of grass in a few days for the cat to chew on. Watch out though, because sometimes the grass will get barfed back up. :-) Just don't give them outside grass because it could have pesticides on it.

Actually you are not supposed to give cats grass as they will usually throw it up afterwards , they eat cat food obviously you should go to pets world or pets at home or a pet shop and buy some cat food and a bowl, it is better to buy two bowls one for food and one for water. Also you must have a litter tray in your home to avoid your cat going to the toilet in varies rooms of your apartment if you are unsure of what a litter tray is then ask at the desk and make sure you buy litter for it. Make sure you care for your cat and stroke it alot maybe if you buy a toy for it?
