- Forget the shyness. You gotta get out there and sell yourself. You have to DEAL with people. I mean, once you have clients, you're going to have to deal with them then, won't you? Don't let shyness stop you from achieving your goals. Besides, you don't have any clients, so what have you got to lose? Nothing. Get out there and do it. You know you can..
- Put flyers on people's doors. Make sure they are in nurseries. Advertise on Craigslist. Do a radio commercial. Volunteer to talk at local garden clubs about lawn care. Get involved at a local community college in their hort department. Get to know the people at the lawnmower repair shop and let the customers know you can mow their lawns if their mowers are in the shop. Every service career is a sales career. No matter what you choose to do, you must be a salesman and sell yourself.
- Offer a buy one lawn mowing get the next one 50% off. Start slow. Give Seniors 10% off. Offer to beat any written offer. Do some short radio spots. Best of luck to you.
