4 years later...Cat question?

I went for a walk with my dog and as we turned the corner this tortishell cat came out of nowhere and kinda followed us. So I stopped and looked at it When I made eye contact with it, it started to meow and kept looking at me. But then my dog saw it and he started barking and she had her hairs up and everything, A few seconds later and a neighbour with her dog turned the corner. We started talking and our dogs were playing and stuff. As we talked, I was trying to look for the cat but could not see her. Then all of a sudden out of the bushes she jumps at the neighbours dog and we fled across the street. Of course we were schocked, but she did have a big belly but I think she was pregnant. Do you think she did that because she was pregnant? And the strange thing is...I am pretty sure I know that cat. Four years ago I found her on my lawn crying for food. So she slept outside my house. We even took her to the vet where she stayed there and eventually her owner was found. He He said she got out because she was i heat. And I am pretty sure its the same cat because although she is much bigger, she was only a few months when we found her. I guess all I want to know is, do you think she remembers me? Im no expert on cats but, the minute I saw her she looked so familiar. Do you think cats can remember? HELP! Another way I know its her is because the cat had the same marking and was the same colour. THANKS FOR WHOEVER TOOK THE TIME OUT TO HELP ME AND READ MY ESSAY:)THANK YOU SO MUCH! Im pretty sure she lives at that house we passed by. But I dont think they take great care of her.

1. sure they remember, mine know when I am due home, were the treats are kept, were the litter box is and what time they get TUNA,

If it is the same cat then she probably does remember you. she might not remember what you did for her but she probably does remember you. she could of attacked the neighbors dog because she remembered you and was trying to protect your dog. cats are very protective over the ones they love. or she could have been pregnant and just felt the dog was threatening her children. but bottom line she probably reemembers you. leave some food out for her. see if she comes back. :) i have a cat.

4. I would reccomend catching the cat and taking her to the same place that you took her 4 years ago. of course she remembers you you saved her life!! personaly if no owner is found i would take her in.
