I want to eat organic food?
I once told my mom to start buying organic food and she said it so expensive and she told me it costs twice as much... I've seen organic food myslef and it only costs like 20% more and I have 2 friends that eat organic food and told me the same thing and they told me it tastes great and I've tried it myself at my friends house and I liked it much better and I felt better about myself and the enviroment.... And everytime I eat regular food I just think about all the junk they put in it- and I'm eating that junk.. What can I do??? And don't tell me to get a job and buy my own food I'm only 14.... All I do is mow the lawn and Its obviously not enough to buy my own groceries....

- Depending on where you live there are cheaper places to buy organic food. Try trader joes (if you have one) they usually are the same price as regular groceries but they are organic. A good way to still eat healthy but, your mom wont have to spend more.
- Talk to your mom about. tell her what you just wrote. it makes you feel better, and its a personal healthy choice. say you wanted to become a vegetarian, she would have to adjust what you eat. she doesn't have to buy organic for everyone in the house, maybe just for you. You are too young to buy your own food, but if you're really serious about this than at least offer to help your mom out a lot more in the house than usual to make up for the extra money she's spending on you.
- Just do what you can. I eat as much organic food as possible, but budget restraints do sometimes get in the way. I do as much of my shopping as I can at local farmer's markets, and organic produce there is slightly less expensive than at the supermarket. Try to get at least berries, greens, and milk organic. They taste a lot better, and berries transfer a lot of chemicals to the fruit due to their higher water content. Also, check this list: http://www.foodnews.org/walletguide.php Talk to your mom about your concerns, and try to help her find less expensive ways to go. Good luck. Eat Local whenever possible!
- eat what your mom gives you and when you are old enough to have a job and supply your own groceries then you can eat organic foods. Or like the guy above mentioned go to farmers markets, but make sure it's organic, sometimes it's just locally grown and they still use the chemicals. My mom used to tell me that she didn't run a restaraunt and I had to eat what she fixed...Maybe your mom should try that.
