What type grass and when to seed?

I live in zone 7 and we just moved to this house so I don't know how the sun will be in mid summer. Right now the yard gets sun until around 2:00 pm.

1. I would go to a nursery and ask. They will no better than a generic answer for your zone.
2. i live in southeast zone 7, specifically in Georgia, the best type of full sun grass is bermuda. seed in the erly spring april/may. (please keep in mind you cannot use preemergents while seeding or overseeding)
3. Best time to seed a lawn is in the Fall. Fact of the matter is that grass seed will germinate and grow in all but the Winter season if proper care is taken to prepare the soil and water the emerging grass. Lawns just take longer to get well established in seasons other than Fall. Visit your local landscape nursery, Lowe's, or Home Depot. They will be happy to recommend various types of grass depending on your growing conditions and needs. Have a good growing season.
