What is the phsycial description of lawn fertilizer?

How would you decribe the physical looks of lawn fertilizer like scotts miracle grow? I have never used and don't know if its a powder, liquid, etc.

1. Actually, I think you can get it in either form. The bagged fertilizer however is granules...about the shape and size of larger pieces of dry laundry soap. Usually pale green in color.
2. most lawn fertilizers are in granular form. the way to put these out is with a rotary spreader. The Scotts miracle grow is a blue to green granule. they look like rock salt or sometimes bb's. you can also buy fertilizer that is liquid and usually have to dilute it with water. most homeowner available fertilizers like these hook up to your garden hose and you spray it on.
