- cactus
- I'm in Florida. We use Floratam. We have been in a drought also. Grass is still green though. St. Augustine is also a good grass. Hope this helps.
- Artificial grass is becoming very popular. Click this link: http://www.waterlessgrass.com/
- Buffalo grass is touted as a good drought resistant grass. It isn't as pretty as some others but it being improved by horticulturists. St Augustine is not considered a drought resistant grass. Since the best grass for one area may not be good for another, you should talk with your county agricultural agent. They usually have the information we need for your area.
- Bermuda grass is very drought tolerant. Bascially once or twice a week about 20 minutes during the not summer months. No water during late fall and all thru winter. There are several hybrid varities that do well. Tifgreen TIfway Texturf 10 And my favorite Santa Ana There is also a new bermuda called princess 77. Less water, tighter blades, and will last much longer into the cold season.
