What is the best grass seed for low sun areas?
My backyard doesn't get too much sun. Anyone have any suggestions on what kind of seed does good in little to no sun? Thanks in advance.

- "Fescue" and a few varieties of the new and improved "Kentucky Bluegrass" will do well in the conditions you have described. If you are in the southern half of the country where summers get hotter than other locations, you will need to water these varieties more often however. If your in the northern half, they will do fine with normal watering practices. You can sometimes find seed that has these two combined in one mix which is a good way to go. - Grasses grow on prairies where there's sun from dawn to dusk. They need at least 6 hours of full sun to do well. In the northern US, fine fescues are the most shade tolerant grasses but if the area is truly shady choose another groundcover. Little or no sun =no turfgrass.
