What is the best grass seed to plant?

I have a small front yard with three oak trees in it. Since I have those three trees its hard for the grass to grow. I just wanted to know what is the best type of grass to plant that can survive around that shaded condition? When is the best time to plant it? What type of grass seed would be good for my yard?

1. if you have 3 oaks then you will need a shade grass. Check home depot
2. As a landscape contractor, I recommend Palmetto Grass, it tolerates more shade than any other type of grass out there. But remember, a least PARTIAL sun is necessary. Finally, you may consider "artificial" grass, they are great looking too.
3. Look in the gardening section of any department store for grass seed. There are many varieties available for different growing conditions, so all you have to do is look for one labeled 'shade' or 'dense shade'....that should get you just what you need.
