Container Gardening Question?

I have planted Tomatoes and Bell Peppers in five gallon buckets how often do you need to fertilize them in order for them to produce? And secondly what kind of fertilizer is best for them? Any tips on Container gardening is welcomed!! Thanks in advanced for all your help....

1. i always use the miracle grow spray every 2 weeks and my flowers and veggies are lovely...

3. Here's an interesting take on container gardening using hay bales for containers. The article is about food plants, but i've seen it used for flowers in the fall.

I would use a balanced fertilizer like a 5-5-5 or 10-10-10. but the type is up to you. you can buy organic fertilizer, brand names like Miracle grow or Scott's or make your own by using compost tea or by adding....bone meal, blood meal and something else with water....i cant remember the recipe. i use homemade organic recipe that i find on the web. Now the brand name stuff comes in 2 ways...one that you mix and dissolve in water and granular formula; they will have info on how much to use and how often. Good luck.
