Which of the following is not a testable hypothesis?

Garden peas grow best with nitrogen based fertilizer. Garden peas grow faster than corn plants. Garden peas are cheaper to grow than tomato plants none of the above

  1. You could grow peas with and without fertilizer and measure growth for #1. You could plant corn and peas at the same time under the same conditions and measure growth for #2....but how do you test the cost of growing something...you could spend no money and both would grow...what constitutes growth...etc. etc., it's not a very well thought out hypothesis but could be tested. So I'd say none of the above. Peace.
  2. tough call....i would say none of the above. The 3rd choice is testable, but would require a lot of work and many variables to sort through.
  3. #3 Garden peas are cheaper to grow than tomato plants. More to do with economics then science.
  4. Money and cost are human-made ideas and not testable natural phenomena, so I would have to say #3.
