new grass seed on fertilizer?

Add planted grass seed about 3 weeks ago, is it good time to put fertilizer on now or no. I live in MN and used Scott grass seed. Just want to speed it up, i for got o do it when putting seed down

1. Hi Wait another month. You seed should have said to wait 3 or 4 cuttings before fertilizing. I like to use the Scott's fertilizer...with my Scott's grass seed. Enjoy the new lawn. S1lent
2. I don't like to put fertilizer (other than *very* dilute liquid fertilizer) on seedling grass... it's very likely to burn the plants. Hold off on the fertilizer till things start cooling down in September.
3. Read the instructions on the seed and fertilizer packages.
4. You can fertilize just make sure it says starter fertilizer and not regular fertilizer,starter fertilizer will help with root development and help it grow a little faster.regular fertilizer will green it up but with such young grass will do nothing but burn it up.
