Where does grass sead come from? When i take a look at grass it doesnt seem to produce seeds. Whats the deal?

  1. grass "goes to seed" once per year. You probably don't see it cuz you experience trimmed lawns. Seed places let the plants grown and harvest it at the right time.
  2. you have to let the grass grow enought to produce seeds. grass youre probly used to seeing is being kept mowed. look for tall grass (like 1-2 feet) this summer and you'll see the seeds developing at the top.
  3. yes ,grass do shed seeds. It belongs to family Gramineae.seeds are endosprmic with 1 cotyledon,shielded scutellum,both radicle and plumule are covered by sheaths.but it grows in lawns by vegetative means itself i.e.by stem runners under the surface of soil.so it seems that it doesnot shed seeds but it do.its fruit is-CARYOPSIS.
