What's the rate for applying 10:10:20 fertiliser to a large area of grass?

Can I use a Westland dropper spreader and does anyone know what setting to use?

1. For fertilser i use an ounce and a half per sq yd with 10 10 20 it can be easy to overfeed a lawn with nitrogen as it contains a high amount so be careful i would use 7 6 17 instead
2. I would suggest you apply the fertiliser at two ounces per square yard. to answer the question on the westland spreader. get a large piece of polythene sheet about two yards long and two yards wide. Then set the spreader at the lowest setting and do a run of one yard.Weigh the fertiliser and continue to open the spreader a little more untill the correct amount is found.make a note of the setting so you then can use the preader without going through this pricedure again.
3. I wouldn't use this on grass, this will promote flowers and seed.
