Quote about life? I dont understand it.?
"What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass adn loses itself in the sunset." What does that mean?

- life is fleeting...
- god knows, but its quite cute
- To me personally it means life is very short. And, it's asking how can we understand life when it's so short. It is insignificant almost. Since a flash of a firefly is insignificant in the whole night.
- It means there is no such thing as endangered species.....just animals Chuck Norris allows to live.
- life is just small things put together to make one big thing and it goes on and ends like a sunset. thats my guess. lol.
- Are you serious? What's not to get? it's the little things that matter. The feel of your baby's breath on your cheek, the last glimmer of light from the sunset over the hill, etc... don't over-analyze it. Enjoy the little things.
- cheesy quotes, out of office posters, don't take them too seriously. but they might mean life is brief and about small things
- It's insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
- Life is short and beautiful... you may miss a moment, but there will be many more, enjoy each one while you can
- i think it means that life can be anything it is also brief for example: a firefly flashes quickly a buffalo's breath you can see (in the cold) then it goes away a shadow that loses itself in the sunset means it's gone too so i think it's just saying life can be found in a variety or ways, shapes and forms. life is also brief
- To me it sounds like a "Life is short" quote. The flash of a firefly at night doesn't last long and is gone just as fast into the dark, the breat of a buffalo in the wintertime would dissapear after a few seconds of merging with the outside air temp. and a shadow losing itself in the sunset sounds much like everything coming together in a darkness. A bit abstract and most likely wrong, as these qoutes are ment to be taken mostly one way and not meant to be pulled into another meaning. But thats what I got out of it.
- that's a really pretty quote. im really not the best at this, but i think it means that life is spontaneous (firefly) and mislead and confusing (shadow), yet actually necessary (buffalo). its basically trying to define life, by describing it as a big melting pot with all these different parts.
