- They're not fussy about their fertilizer. Any general fertilizer will do. I often use Espoma's Tree Tone, or Holly Tone (Holly tone adds acid, and as my soil tends toward alakaline, I use the Holly Tone on many things in my garden).
- Slow release...is the answer. There are many different brands of fertilizer that you can choose from. The most important is to buy one "Specifically Formulated" for use on cherry blossom trees. The fertilize contains ~"slow release"~ nitrogen that will continue feeding through out the growing season and into winter. Just ask at your local nursery sense this is a very common product. This type of tree doesn't like several fertilizer feedings but will be very healthy with a slow release. Compose and mulch also are very help full because this tree likes to stay damp. It doesn't like extreme moisture changes. Best wishes =!=
