Growing cat grass...Help please...?
Ok, so my cat is an indoor cat so I decided to grow here some grass. I got a little kit from the store and she really liked it. It was just a 5 dollar kit that I bought to tide her over until I could really grow her some good grass. Does anybody have any recommendations on how to do this. Should I just get a big pot and grass seeds? What are your thoughts. (Yes, she is a little spoiled bitch).

- I like the pie pan method.. it doesn't make a big mess and cost is cheap cheap.. Purchase your cat grass seeds from the pet supply store/walmart or home-depot type store (they actually sell the seeds) use ORGANIC dirt as your soil.. you can buy it in small bags. get 3 heavy duty tinfoil pie pans and 1 large lid from a storage container. punch 3 holes in the pie pans fill with dirt and put the seeds on top (I actually do 1 pie plate ever 10 days, that way you have 3 stages of kitty grass) lay a small amount of dirt over the seeds.. place the pie plate on top of the lid and put it on your balcony or in direct sunlight. You should have kitty grass within a few days! She is a lucky to have such a great owner! Edit: I paid .99 for 3 pie pans, 1.99 for the seeds 1.99 for the soil and used a lid from a storage container that I already had. Basically you are looking at a cost of 5.00 and will be able to reuse ALL the product again and again. except for the grass seeds.
- i use the Gimpet Cat Grass Plus that you can get at pet smart, but ive seen it in a lot of stores too. i prefer this product to the pie pan method because it is actually cheaper and easier to maintain. the pie pan method requires a very large purchase of a lot of different products and then storage of that products for a long period of time. this product comes in small plastic containers and only takes a week to grow, same as any method but it only lasts a week or so once its grown. and offers the ability to have it stored in an out of the way place and with less fuss.
