What type of rye grass should i plant for horses?
I HAVE 3 TO 4 ACRES I'M GOING TO PLANT RYE GRASS THIS WINTER FOR MY HORSES. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO RESEARCH IT AND I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT TYPE OF RYE GRASS WOULD BE THE BEST FOR THEM. WRENS ABRUZZI, MARSHALL, OR BULLDOG GRAZIER. I DO HAVE A SEPERATE PASTURE FOR THEM WHILE IT'S GROWING SO THAT WON'T BE A PROBLEM I JUST NEED SO SUGGESTIONS ON WHATS THE BEST KIND OF RYE FOR SOUTH CAROLINA.

- The folks I used to work for at Far Winds, Calabash, NC (I'm in Longs SC now) grew coastal bermuda year round. Beautiful hay. Good grazing. Sorry, I don't know much about rye, do have some alfalfa seed if you'd like it. Geez, where's RScott when you need him? *Yo, RR, you out there?*
- We plant Marshall ryegrass for our horses. It seems to do well in north Texas.
