What is buffalo grass? Is it suitable for Connecticut?

  2. Buffalo grass is great stuff especially if you live in low moisture areas. Buffalo grass only requires about 15 inches of rainfall a year. The only drawback to it is it takes longer to green in the spring and it browns earlier in the fall than typical lawns of kentucky blue or fescue. I planted a mix of buffalo grass and blue grama just this year. Here's a great website that offers several varieties of buffalo grass.
