Why are the squirrels digging holes in my grass lawn even after putting seeds for them?!?

how do I stop it!!............. cant put a fence. They eat the bird seeds but still come on the lawn!! Graham you mean they are burrying the seeds in the lawn??!! NOOOOO lol

  1. Actually haha... Squirells burry seeds... for the winter, so that could be why.
  2. Yep, squirrels store their food for the winter. It's been said that spreading blood meal or bone meal (used as fertilizers) on the lawn sends the squirrels elsewhere.
  3. right, they're trying to bury stuff for the winter, that'ss how they survive. sometimes they actually dig up flower bulbs and use them for food. not a whole lot you can do.
  4. Nature I'm afraid! We had a squirrel once that persistently buryed the same nut in each of our flower pots one after the other! You could try catching the squirrel in a squirrel cage trap and taking him elsewhere, or trying to repel him with a squirrel repeller.
