Can I put fertilizer and grass seeds together?

I want to plant grass seeds in my lawn, can i put grass seeds on the lawn too?

1. If you just want to fill in some thin or winter-killed patches, buy a sack of good potting soil. Mix in lots of grass seed with the potting soil and tamp it in well in the dead spots. Keep it watered daily and the grass will grow and root nicely. Fertilizer can kill the young grass if the weather turns suddenly hot.
2. yes i always mix my grass seed with my fertizler it hides from the birds
