- craigslist
- Start with cards and get to know the block. A Trusted Landscaper is better than a cheap one. Good Luck in your endeavors.
- Newspaper classifieds.
- craigslist
- 1. think of a name for company 2. get it approved by the government 3. apply for wholesale (markets were you can buy plants,.ext for cheap) 4. hire people
- When I needed someone to mow my yard I looked at the local online newspaper in the classifieds. Their search engine came up with several when I typed in "mowing". That way you can list your number and how much you charge and what kind of services you offer. I ended up with a really nice guy who comes by whenever I call him. We arrange what day and I leave the cash for him in a designated place. Good luck!
- Get a list of recent home buyers. You can find this list in your local newspaper on Sundays in the real estate section. Your local business journal may also this information. Once you have a list, target the ones who paid a minimum $300,000 for their new home. This will ensure that you are not marketing to prospects who can't afford to pay for your service. Align yourself with a realtor who is a top producer. Offer them a finder's fee of 20% for referrals. Finally, don't stop advertising. There's a saying that in order to get what you never had, you must do what you've never done. So... you may have to step out of your comfort zone a bit and do some cold calling.
- Never, ever put your fliers in mailboxes. That's a federal offense. If you want your fliers in a mailbox, you have to mail them. You would qualify for a bulk rate, and your local post office will help you learn how they can be automatically put in as bulk mail. Also, there are companies that will send out mailers of various goods and services. I get a few of these each week. They are usually an assortment of restaurants, supermarkets, and services. You can target one neighborhood, one area of the city, or the whole city. Sometimes I pick up fliers in a neighborhood restaurant, but the fliers have to be written in a language that I understand (which is English) and they have to be eye catching. Not necessarily gaudy, but they need to have their primary message in letters big enough that I can read the flier without picking it up. In your case, it would be "LAWN SERVICES" in big letters. You can also try to bundle your service with someone else's. For instance, you and a maid service could offer a package deal, where you and the maids would offer a slightly reduced price if the customer buys both services at once. Offering a reduced price to new customers will get the word out, and people might be more likely to call you again if they like your service.
