another planning and designing experiment?

water drawn from a river has a bad taste. John claims that the taste is due to seepage and runs off from nearby farms after recent heavy rains. Plan and design an experiment to confirm this and also how you would remove the pollutant from the water.i said that urea (fertilizer) could have been in the water but how could you test for the presence of it?and i chose crystallisation to remove it from the water.can that be used?

  1. I would think a simple distillation would be a good way to separate the mixture's components. Collect any species that boils in the range you're interested in, then do a melting point / boiling point determinations or any other tests necessary to help identify the component.
