How much should i charge for mowing, edging, weed eating and blowing people's lawns?
I am 14 years old, and I am going to start a summer job by mowing, weed eating, edging, and blowing people lawns. The lawns are pretty big, and I was wondering on how much I should charge for all of this?
Public Comments
- $30 each yard (includes all of the above mentioned for both front & back yards)
- depending how bad or good it is. figure if it is your average mowing etc I would charge 30 dollars
- Every area is different in their pricing. Check the going rate in your area. Since your not professional and don't carry insurance you will have to do the service for a lesser rate. Have fun starting your venture.
- I would charge 25 dollars an acre and 10 dollars more if there are any big slopes/hills etc.
- for 1/3 acre property... generall between $35~$45.
- base your price on how long it takes you, and if you're using your equipment and gas, or theirs. Assuming you're using your mower, eater, blower, and gas, I'd say $30 - $40 would be fair if it takes you 1 to 1.5 hours. Charge on the lower end to get some customers, but talk to them to get a feel for what they are willing to pay. Once you have one or two neighbors, and you do a great job at a reasonable price, more will want you to do theirs.
- Doing all this work may make charging your customers seem like a very tough job. However, I have made a formula to simplify things for you: ($/Hour) X (# Hours spent) + (Expenses) = Cost per lawn Basically, figure out how long it will take you, and go from there.
