Have Kentucky Bluegrass seed to use on bare spots on lawn. Will it have a bluish color when it germinates?
Had stonework done in our yard and have some Kentucky Bluegrass seed to fill in bare spots along new walkway. Will it come in green like the rest of our lawn or will it have a bluish color to it? Don't know if I should use or get something else. Thanks for any info.

- No, it will be green. "...Kentucky bluegrass is native to practically all of Europe, northern Asia and the mountains of Algeria and Morocco. Although the species is spread over all of the cool, humid parts of the U.S., it is not native to North America. Apparently the early colonists brought seed of Kentucky bluegrass to this country in mixtures with other grasses..." http://plantanswers.tamu.edu/turf/publications/bluegrass.html
- You really won't see the blue unless you let it grow out really long.
- It will be green - hopefully a dark green. The term "bluegrass" is a misnomer applied to that type of seed, but it is not blue. I suppose if one were looking at a thousand acres of healthy "bluegrass" there would be a lot of green shades to the point where there might be an area that has a bluish tint. Won't happen in your yard.
