type of fertilizer to use for peppers and tomatoes?

I will be planting tomatoes and peppers in the ground and want to know what type of fertilizer to use.The one store I go to has 10-10-10- and 12-12-12.They both say good for vegetable gardens.Will one kind work for both?

1. I'm pretty sure they will both work. I'm sorry I don't know which is "better" but if they say for veggie gardens, they should. I had 6 yellow pear tomato plants last year, in pots, and I didn't use fertilizer at all, just potting soil that the guy at Fred Meyer suggested. They grew great, I had a ton of tomatoes out of them, and I'm restarting with full sized tomatoes this year now that I'm out of my apartment and into my own house =) Good luck =)
