What is the proper way to plant new grass seeds?

I have a large patch on my front lawn that needs to be dug out and plant new grass. Any tips on how to properly plant new grass and take care of it?

2. use a lawn spreader make sure to put a lot of seeds, (almost one on top of the other) cover them with a good soil, put some water, at least once a day, u will see the new grass one week after
3. Use a medium rake and slightly claw the ground and sprinkle 1st for about 5b minutes and start slingin the seeds!
