Best grass seed to use - we live in Illinois - partly shady area, we have dogs.?

We have bare spots where the dogs go out - we scoop poop every day but we still have bare spots. We live in IL and the area is partly shady - would love to have some nice grass back - any ideas - best grass seed out there??? What else can I put on the lawn - we have tried lime last year too! HELP
