The Grass Doctor

How often does my landlord have to mow our lawn? Its not in the lease for us too.?

I live in an apartment in Texas and don't feel responsible for maintaining the shared yard. I'm a busy mother of 2 and cant afford to go buy a lawn mower and pay to store it somewhere nor do I have time to mow it. What can be done about this? It's unsafe for the children living here.Every time any tenants contact them, they are out of town.It seems awfully convenient for them or they seriously vacation every month!

  1. where i live if they don't mow it and it gets out of control the city will mow it and bill the resident what they want. Maybe you can call around and see if that's possible.
  2. If you are in an apartment, that is usually included in the rent, and you don't have to mow. I would say if the grass gets about 3 or 4 inches high, it is past the time to mow! During the spring, you should be mowing at least once a week, since grass grows a lot faster at that time. Sounds like the landlord might be dodging the mowing. If it gets too high, call the city if the landlord keeps jetting off to wherever they may be going! You could also slip a note in with your rent next month and ask about the mowing?
